Chardonnay wine is known for its medium to full body with flavours ranging from crisp green apple, citrus, and pear in cooler climates to riper stone fruits and tropical notes in warmer regions. Oak influence can add vanilla, butter, toast, and spice characteristics, though many modern Australian Chardonnay styles emphasise freshness and fruit purity.

Most premium Australian Chardonnays, including our Millon collection, are crafted in a dry style where the natural sugars are fully fermented, creating a wine with complexity and character rather than sweetness.

Oaked Chardonnay wine undergoes ageing in oak barrels, which imparts additional flavours of vanilla, toast, and spice while adding textural elements. Unoaked Chardonnay showcases the grape's natural character with brighter acidity and purer fruit expression. At Millon, we craft both styles of Chardonnay with equal attention to balance and quality.

A quality Chardonnay will remain fresh for 3-5 days when properly resealed and refrigerated. Our premium selections, with their excellent structure and balance, can often maintain their character slightly longer.

For optimal enjoyment, serve Millon Chardonnay between 10-13°C. Lighter styles benefit from the cooler end of this range, while more complex, oak-influenced selections reveal their full character at slightly warmer temperatures.
