    This 2020 Shiraz is deep crimson in colour and is accompanied by aromas of blackberries, raw cocoa and plums. The palate exhibits red fruits, spice and integrated oak. Fine, velvety tannins persist in this balanced wine along with great length on the finish.

    Winemaking

    This small parcel of Eden Valley Shiraz was handpicked. The fruit was destemmed and crushed into one tonne open top fermenters with 30% whole bunch clusters. The fruit was then held at 10-15 degrees for five days before being allowed to warm and start fermentation. After 20 days on skins and hand plunged daily, the wines were pressed to 100% new French oak Puncheons, where they matured for 18 months. No fining or filtration was used on this wine.

    Carefully nurtured from bud to bottle, these wines are handcrafted with passion and precision, resulting in a true reflection of region and variety. This Shiraz offer sophistication and complexity in flavour, while maintaining balance and elegance throughout.

    Food Matching

    Chargrilled dry-aged sirloin steak, Guinness braised beef cheeks with seasonal roasted vegetables.

    VINTAGE CONDITIONS

    The 2020 vintage was dryer than usual, which resulted in lower crop yields. However, what the vintage lacked in quantity it made up for in quality, as the grapes that were produced were very concentrated and intense. The picking of the grapes was also done earlier than usual to maintain their natural acidity. This results in wines that are powerful and full-bodied, with complex aromas and flavours.
