This Reserve Grenache is a bright crimson with purple hues. On the nose, this Barossa Grenache wine evokes a beautiful blend of lifted florals, red fruits, and savory spice. Raspberries and pomegranate persist in this textural and complex wine. Finishing with fine, velvety tannins, it leaves a lasting impression.

Winemaking

Hailing from 100+ year old vines and made with minimalistic techniques to truly allow the distinguished fruit to shine. Fermented with 50% whole bunches, the juice was hand plunged twice daily for one week before being pressed to a large French oak foudre where it aged on lees for 10 months pure expression of Barossa Grenache at its finest. No fining or filtration was used on this wine.

Carefully nurtured from bud to bottle, these wines are handcrafted with passion and precision, resulting in a true reflection of region and variety. This Grenache is sophisticated, embodying complex, textural qualities.

Vintage Conditions

The 2022 winter leading into the 2023 vintage brought about just above-average rainfall, initiating a cool and wet season that led to delayed flowering compared to the usual timing. As the vintage approached, the cool weather persisted, with temperatures lower than average. Consequently, the ripening periods were slower, enabling enhanced fruit development and acid retention within the vineyard. The combination of the colder and wetter season led to low yields but increased concentration, ultimately contributing to the wines' remarkable intensity.
