Description

This single vineyard Grenache Rosé originating from our Armagh property in the Clare Valley was handpicked and whole bunch pressed. Displaying pale pink hues with aromas of freshly cut strawberries, pomegranate, and wild field flowers. The textural palate is layered with strawberries and delicate citrus notes. A cooler, longer vintage has imparted lively natural acidity with a refreshingly crisp finish.

Winemaking

This small parcel of Single Vineyard Clare Valley Rosé was handpicked and whole bunch pressed. Fermenting at cool temperatures with a small amount of solids allowed us to create this textural perfumed wine. The wine was fermented dry, filtered, and bottled.

Winemaker's Notes

Made with 100% Clare Valley Grenache that is picked early vintage, in the optimal conditions for its type and style. The 2022 Grenache Rose is an elegant wine that is light, dry but beautifully well-rounded.

Vintage Conditions

The 2023 vintage brought about just above-average rainfall, initiating a cool and wet season that led to delayed flowering compared to the usual timing. As the vintage approached, the cool weather persisted, with temperatures lower than average. Consequently, the ripening periods were significantly slower, enabling enhanced fruit development and acid retention within the vineyard. The combination of the colder and wetter season led to low yields but increased concentration, ultimately contributing to the wines' remarkable intensity.
